Community Guidelines

Last updated: July 2026

Randomegle exists to bring real people together for spontaneous, face-to-face conversations with strangers from around the world. These Community Guidelines set the ground rules that keep those moments friendly, safe, and welcoming. They apply to everyone, everywhere on the service — the moment you open a session on random video chat, you agree to follow them.

Think of these guidelines as the shared understanding that makes a room full of strangers feel worth being in. They are not a wall of legal fine print; they are simple expectations about how to behave so that the next person you meet has a good experience too. If you are new here, how Randomegle works is quick to pick up, and the rules below explain the lines you must not cross — and what happens when someone does.

Treat Everyone With Respect

Talk to the people you meet the way you would want to be treated. Curiosity, openness, and a little kindness are what make a random conversation worth having. Most people arrive hoping to laugh, practice a language, or simply pass an evening in good company — meet them halfway and the whole thing works.

Respect means honoring other people's opinions and points of view, even when they differ sharply from your own. Disagreement is fine; contempt is not. Do not insult, demean, discriminate against, or single out an individual or group because of who they are or what they believe.

Rudeness, cruelty, and pressure ruin the experience for everyone and have no place here. If a chat simply is not clicking, there is no need to be harsh — a quick skip moves you both on to someone new without anyone leaving in a worse mood.

This Is an Adults-Only Service

Randomegle is strictly for adults. You must be at least 18 years old — or the age of majority where you live, if that is higher — to use it. This is a firm requirement, not a suggestion, and it exists to protect both you and the people you meet.

Never knowingly chat with anyone you believe to be a minor, and never share, request, or encourage any content involving minors. If you suspect the person on the other end is underage, end the conversation immediately and report it. Accounts found to belong to minors are removed, and any illegal material involving children is preserved and reported to the appropriate authorities.

Because this is an adult environment, everyone is responsible for keeping it that way. Honesty about your age is part of the agreement you accept in our Terms of Service, and misrepresenting it is grounds for a permanent ban.

Keep Yourself Covered on Camera

Randomegle is a place to meet and talk, not a stage for sexual performance. Do not display nudity, sensitive body parts, sexual acts, or other explicit content on camera. Keep yourself dressed and keep the conversation something you would be comfortable having in a public café.

The same standard applies to anything sexual you might try to push on another person: requests for explicit acts, sexual harassment, or unwanted advances are all off-limits. If you want a quieter, one-to-one setting to get to know someone you have connected with, move things into a private chat — but the rules against explicit content follow you there too.

Any session that breaks this rule can be ended on the spot, and the person responsible can be reported and removed. Repeat offenders lose access entirely.

No Harassment, Threats, or Hate

Bullying, intimidation, and threats of violence are never acceptable, whether aimed at the person you are chatting with or anyone else. Nobody should feel unsafe because of something said to them on Randomegle.

Hate speech is prohibited without exception. That includes attacks or slurs targeting someone's race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any similar characteristic. Dehumanizing or degrading language directed at a group crosses a bright line that ends in removal.

If a conversation turns hostile, you always have the fastest tool available: skip it. If it crosses into harassment or threats, do not just walk away — report it, so the person cannot do the same thing to someone else a minute later.

Protect Privacy and Personal Information

Guard your own sensitive details and respect everyone else's. Do not hand out passwords, financial or banking information, government ID numbers, or your home address to someone you just met, and never pressure another person to reveal theirs.

Never publish, screenshot, or pass around another user's private information without their clear consent — doing so to expose, embarrass, or intimidate someone is a serious violation. What happens in a chat is between the people in it. If you are unsure how much to reveal, our safety tips are worth a read before you share, and you can check exactly how Randomegle handles your own data in our Privacy Policy.

A good rule of thumb: if you would not want a detail forwarded to a stranger, do not put it on screen or in the chat box. Slowing down before you share is the simplest protection there is.

Nothing Illegal or Fraudulent

Do not use Randomegle to promote, arrange, or carry out anything that breaks the law. That covers selling or advertising illegal goods, distributing illegal content, and any attempt to scam, phish, or defraud the people you meet.

Deceptive schemes are taken just as seriously as outright crime. Impersonating someone, running fake giveaways, spreading rumors or false advertising, or tricking others into sending money or clicking malicious links will all get an account removed. Randomegle is free to start, and legitimate extras like virtual gifts and coins and VIP are the only sanctioned way value changes hands here — never off-platform payment requests from a stranger.

If someone tries to pull you into an off-platform deal, an investment, or a "quick favor" involving money or personal accounts, treat it as a red flag, decline, and report them.

Keep Profiles, Names, and Shared Media Clean

The prohibited-content rules are not limited to what happens live on camera. Anything you present about yourself — a profile photo, a display name, or media you share during a chat — must follow the same standards as the conversation itself.

Do not use pornographic, violent, gory, or sexually suggestive imagery, and do not include advertising, contact details, links to other apps, or discriminatory and hateful language in a name or profile. Content depicting minors, weapons, or illegal drug use is never allowed anywhere on the service.

These standards exist so that a stranger deciding whether to connect with you can trust that the environment is what it claims to be. A profile that hides behind a disguise or bait undermines that trust, and material that breaks these rules is removed whether or not anyone reports it.

Reporting, Enforcement, and Penalties

When someone breaks these rules, act right away: use the skip and block controls to end the encounter, then report a user so the team can act. Reports are how we spot bad actors quickly, and the more detail you give, the faster the review.

We take violations seriously and respond in proportion to how serious and how repeated they are. A first or minor slip may draw a warning; repeated or moderate breaches can mean a temporary suspension of your account; and severe or persistent abuse leads to permanent, irreversible removal. Illegal activity is handled separately and may be referred to the authorities.

These guidelines work hand in hand with our Terms of Service, which set out your broader rights and responsibilities as a member. Read both, keep to them, and you help make every random match a little safer for the next person who lands in it.
